Downtown gastro walkway opens in Budapest on Friday
Hungarian vegetable producers, gastronomic products, speciality and traditional Hungarian dishes on offer for four months on Downtown gastro walkway.
This is the first event at Erzsébet tér at the Gastro Walkway where so many Hungarian producers will offer their products for such a long period of time. Each of the four months will focus on a different theme and on different dishes, and visitors will be able to try the goods of more than two hundred, that is 50-60 different vendors a months.
Erzsébet tér turns into “Street food”
The series of programmes includes the Goose and Young-Wine Festival in November, the Downtown Christmas in December, the Pork Festival in January, and the Cheese Festival in February. The visitors can taste the wines of the Hungarian wine regions, different types of Hungarian pálinka and beer – even pumpkin beer for Halloween – to go with the traditional and the speciality Hungarian dishes.
At Erzsébet tér, which will be functioning as “street food”, there will be concerts on stage as well as heated terraces where guests can sit. At weekends, people can choose from a wide selection of goods provided by the almost forty vendors at the producers’ market which will be operating on the first floor of Fröccsterasz. From this Friday, the antique market at Budapest Anno terrace will be open on every day of the week, where those interested can stumble upon antique, retro and contemporary treasures, all related to Budapest.
