A six-storey-high swimming complex to be built on the Pest side of the Danube
The new swimming complex on the northern part of the Dagály Thermal bath is designed to host the 2017 Junior and the 2021 FINA World Aquatics Championships.
The six-storey-high swimming complex to be completed at the northern part of the Dagály bath by the end of 2016 at the latest will certainly receive worldwide attention – officials said at the press conference held to present the plans for the facility.
Retractable roof, mobile grandstand
The complex, which will occupy an area of 25,000 square metres, will have a retractable roof, competition and warm-up pools, a jump platform, as well as a teaching pool. In its ‘normal’ mode it will accommodate 5,000 spectators.
For the 2021 World Championship, a mobile grandstand will be added so the number of seats will total 18,000. However, the temporary grandstand accommodating 13,000 spectators will be disassembled after the World Championship.
