Christmas Streetcars on Schedule again
True to Budapest’s pre-Christmas traditions, floodlit streetcars are on schedule again.
The first festive tram started its shuttle in 2009 along the track of the number 2 line. 2010 saw the introduction of its glittering counterpart on the Buda quay.
The tram is decorated with 39200 LED bulbs and will be running from 06.12 to 06.01 on weekdays along the nuber 19 line, on weekends and public holidays along the number 2 line. The first shuttles start at 16h. The last tram leaves Közvágóhíd at 20.30, and Kossuth tér at 21.35 (the number 2 line). The last trams along the number 19 line leave Kelenföldi pu and Batthyány stations at 21.35 and 22.06 respectively.
Fares are the same as those for regular trams. The trams are out of service on 24 and 31 December.
